Why Do Narcissists Lie So Much? The answers to this question might come to you as a surprise! Usually, a person is not born a narcissist, certain situations and life circumstances make him/her a narcissist. Narcissists are not born they become one after they have faced the same. A Narcissist is always a difficult person to deal with and it might also drain your mental peace completely. But if you try to know their back story you might also be shocked.

When a person is ignored by all, cheated, or hurt by others, left alone, or just criticized for no such major reason or no reason at all, such situations force them to become what they have faced. So when a person is always told lies, how can anyone expect the truth from them? Once a person becomes a narcissist or is forced towards narcissism, there is no going back!

Lack of Empathy

Narcissists are self-centered beings who do not have any space for feelings like care, empathy, shame, or guilt. They can be often mean, cold and insensitive toward other people’s feelings. They often tend to lie straight to your face without having a sense of guilt. They usually have resentment and agony of their own so they often lack Empathy. Lack of such feelings can result in lies so easily.

Sense of Entitlement

The sense of deservingness makes it difficult for a narcissist to spill the truth or even go anywhere near the truth. Fakes and lies make them look more promising and greater than others. They feel they deserve everything special, and nothing less. This habit of entitlement does not allow them to look at the truth. They prefer lies as lies make them feel better, greater, and something more than others. They have their own little cocoon of lies in which they are comfortable and do not wish to step out.
